My husband and I visited Halifax County and Pittsylvania County last weekend for the purpose of roots digging on the Griffin and Wilkins connection in Halifax County in 1825. For those of you who have not been there, it offers lovely landscapes, delectable historic architectural structures, and especially nice people. We found the members of the Piedmont Genealogy group at the Danville library and the Halifax Clerk of Court and staff very helpful; we are most appreciative for their assistance. While we did not come away with the obvious pieces to our puzzle that we hoped to find, we found many bits and pieces that may in time help put the puzzle together. We also became more aware of the geography, especially church locations, county boundaries and neighborhoods by visiting. If you have the opportunity to go, you'll be glad you did. I am confident your research will become more meaningful. Betty
