Posted on: HALIFAX CO, VA QUERY FORUM Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Va/Halifax/2282 Surname: Farmer, Boyd ------------------------- To get to Pleasant Grove Church from Halifax Courthouse, go south on Rt. 360 approx. 8 miles, turn left on Rt. 680, (Pleasant Grove Church Rd.) the church is about 1 1/2 miles on the right, it is now called Pleasant Grove United Christian Church and is still active. On one of my trips there last summer I was told the "old" church records had been lost. As for the denomination of the church, I don't have that information at the presant. I have a letter from 1924 on church stationary and at the top is "The Plasant Grove Christian Church", "News Ferry, Virginia". News Ferry on a map is approx. 5 1/2 miles S/E of the church where Rt. 671 ends at the Dan River.
