I have documented my lineage to John Asher m. Jain who lived in adjacent Campbell Co. in the late 1700s. The Tanners, Ashers and Glasses were of the landed gentry at that time and place. I believe that John might be from the Halifax Ashers who settled in the area in the early 1700s, but I have not been able to validated it. John had a son James who married Frances Glass in 1813. Their son John Glass Asher m. Susan Ann Epperson also moved to the Weakly Co., TN area [Henry Co.] in 1856. It occurs to me that the Glass connection and the fact that they moved to the same area might suggest a connection in the lineages, or research that you and Ann are doing.
