Ambrose Madison and Nathaniel Royster also signed the bond. Reference: Circuit Court Halifax Co VA book 18, page 34. Hawkins Landrum, my grgrgrgr grandfather, was a Methodist minister who came to Halifax about 1785. Can someone describe the duties and responsibilites of "Inspector of Tobacco" in those days? Thanks!
