Hi list! I am searching for any information on Joseph Irby b. c. 1728 in Virginia. I'm unsure exactly where. I've seen several possibilities, but to my knowledge no record has been found of his birth. I do know that he lived in Halifax for a while during part of the time period 1740-1780. He lived there during pre Revolutionary War times. He moved his family to South Carolina approx. 1779. He is said to be the son of Joshua Irby Jr., but the documentation to support this is weak. I'm also searching for the parents and ancestors of Joseph's wife, Frances Carter b. c. 1730, but unsure of where. It's possible that her name may have been Mary Frances Carter or Margaret Frances Carter. Any help on these two would be appreciated very much! Many thanks, Linda Graves
