What I have are some very large machine copied sheets that lists by surname what appears to be defendants to court cases in Halifax Co, VA, along with the plaintiffs, the year, book and page number and then remarks, such as "trial and acquittal" "Thomas Clardy surveyor" "case continued". I have all the pages for the CLARDY family. They were given to me, but I don't know what venue we're talking about here. Could this be an index to Chancery Court records? Does anyone know if the books referred to still exist with the records on these court cases? Any help would be much appreciated. Joanne Clarida Shrout Independence, MO
