This information on Jones is of interest to me. I have been searching for the parents of Stephen, Robert, and Richard Jones. Stephen, born 1801, and his brothers are believed to have been raised in the Aaron's Creek community in Halifax County. Stephen's wife was Nancye Annie Griffin of Mecklenberg Co, VA. She was the daughter of Elijah Griffin and Mary Gold. Stephen and Richard moved from the area to Tennessee around 1835. Stephen is my gg grandfather. Robert wound up in Granville Co, NC. There could have been other siblings, but I'm not sure. I wonder if Robert Jones and daughters are connected to my line of Jones. Thanks for this information. From the info I have there must be another genetation involved in this line you have. Her is what I have: John Sims b. 1813 Laurenc Co, SC, mar. Martha Riley 11-19-1838(her dob 1815) they moved from SC to AL and then to Smith or Scott Co, Ms where they died abt 1901. They had a son named Drury/Drew who is my ancestor. John had 3 sisters, Rebacca, Sarah Martin and Polly; brothers Drury and Richard and one unknown sibling. John's father was Drury Sims. Let me know what you have come up with since 1998 and where you found the info you had then. Sure hope we can figure this out.

To Victoria... My g grandmother had a brother named Lafayette Wells Carter. She was Rosalie Tennessee Carter, daughter of Henry Newton Carter and Sarah Anne Burrow. Henry Newton was reportedly the son of Robert N. Carter. They lived in TN, but I think the family migrated there from VA. Lafayette is a name that tends to run in families. Just thought I'd throw that out.
