I have copies of pics. that came from my GGrandfather's photo album. My GGrandfather was John H. Wilson. He was born in Orange, NC. Moved to Pittsylvania Co. Married Leanah Hall. After her death he married her sister America Hall Williams. Possible lived in Halifax Co. (? in the area of Pace). Later moved to Charlotte Co., VA. The names on some of the photos are: Sam Dixon Ann Dixon Rose Dixon Hardnett Amanda Malone Bud Ingram "The Anderson Twins" (Two young children... Possibly boys?) There are several other pictures without names. One appears to be at a family reunion. I believe John's second wife is in the picture, therefore it is probally the Hall family. Hi I'm looking for info on an Elizabeth Guthrie/Guthrey who married Richard Elder in Halifax in the year 1850. They appear on the 1850 Census for Halifax County. In 1860 they are in Campbell County. Richard was born in Campbell County and returned there sometime between his marriage to Elizabeth and the 1860 census. All of my direct line ancestors back to Richard and Elizabeth remained in Campbell County until the 1930's. I live in California, so going to Halifax County for a look-up would be a little difficult for me, so if someone has info on this particular Elizabeth, or could do a marriage look-up for me it would be very much appreciated. I am trying to find the name of a parent or sibling or other family tie to continue my research. Thanks to anyone with help or advice on where to go. She lived in Halifax Co VA, 5 year prior to her marriage with the Stanfield as guardians. She married Robert Poynor born 14 May 1777. His parents were John Poynor and wife Elinor (last name?) resided in Halifax County VA. Robert Poynor died 1848 and Sally Smith Poynor died 25 July 1842 in Williamson County Tennessee. They moved to TN circa 1814. To many Smith in Halifax, have not found her parents or any Smith children orphaned.
