:The Virginian-Pilot; :Feb 13, 2007; :Hampton Roads; :26 Polly P. Blankenship CHESAPEAKE - Polly Perry Blankenship, 87, formerly of Hemple Street, went to be with the Lord Feb. 10, 2007. A native of Wayne County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Ballard and Fair Belle Smith Perry and the wife of the late Charles G. Blankenship Jr. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Virginia Beach. She is survived by three daughters, Charlotte Jones and Phyllis Mizelle, both of Zuni, Va., and Pat Bell and her husband Robert of Chesapeake; a son, Carlos Gene Blankenship and his wife Gay of Greenup, Ky.; two sisters, Brookie Maynard of Kanover, W.Va. and Lou Kirk of Dunlow, W.Va.; one brother, Allie Perry of Wayne, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Jay Blankenship, six brothers and six sisters. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, with Pastor Elston Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She made people love her by just being around her. She loved everyone she met.
