:The Virginian-Pilot; :Feb 11, 2007; :Hampton Roads; :28 Albert White CHESAPEAKE - Albert White, 88, went to be with the Lord Feb. 10, 2007. He was a native of Pardee, Va., and was predeceased by his parents, Robert Hugh and Rosa Laughtry White; and eight siblings, Dewey White, Leona Horton, Maxine Price, Howard White, Robert White, Norma Lee Garrington, Jack White and David White. Mr. White was a retired firefighter with Norfolk Naval Shipyard, was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and was both an Army and Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Doris H. White; two daughters, Alberta Roof of Florida and Lennie Dale Showalter and husband Kevin of Chesapeake; one son, Robert M. White and wife Laura of Chesapeake; one sister, Hazel Taylor of Vienna, Va.; four grandchildren, Chad Hazen, Paul Hazen, Jamie Swanson and Kristin Sherrill; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Meadowbrook Mausoleum Chapel by Mike Lucas and Bill Bates. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or the Alzheimers Association. --------------------------------- Get your own web address.
