Asbury NORFOLK - Ada E. “Bunnie” Asbury, 74, of the 3200 block of Blackwood Ave., went to be with the Lord Jan. 31, 2007, in her home. Born in Poca, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Hilda Landers. Bunnie will be remembered as an avid reader who loved to shop and spend time with those she loved. Most of all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was devoted to her family and friends, and loved any opportunity to be with them. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Homer W. Asbury of Norfolk; three children, Greg Asbury and wife Debra of Norfolk, Lois Strickland and husband Mike of Suffolk and Robert Asbury and wife Deborah of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Linda DeGuzman, Christal Kyper, Miranda Bone, Craig Strickland Nicole Asbury and Lindsey Asbury; great-grandchildren, Robbie Flora, Ross Flora, Bree DeGuzman, Lexi DeGuzman, KayLee Kyper, Kendall Kyper, Mallory Wise and Hunter DeGuzman; sisters, Lois Louise Bonnett of Poca, and Clara Dee Soulier of Cleveland, Ohio. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. The Rev. Don McLean will officiate.
