Hi all, This is my first posting to this list. My name is Ed Cooper and I am looking for information on my great Grandfather Peter Blevins. According to family "lore" He was taken from Greenup County, KY in the early 1900s probably between 1900 and 1910 brought to Virginia and hung. The story goes he had killed one or more black miners. This story in different versions is told by different factions of my family who have never met. Recently one of my cousins stated he was brought to Independence where he was hung. I am located in Massachusetts so getting to Virginia is not feasible, Can anyone tell me any on line sites or places I can write to research this further, Thank you all for your time.
