Dear List I would like to know the relationship of Preston Reeves to the Shumaker/Shumate family. I believe that the name, Preston Reeves has been the name of several individuals in several generations. However, in the 1970's my sister in law met an elderly person with that name who was a relation. How? In one connection, Polly Reeves (born in the 1820's) married Marshall Calloway, their daughter, Mahala married William Shumaker. William Shumaker is the great grandfather of my husband's family. Is their a more recent connetion of Reeves and Shumakers-now Shumates? Jane Shumate
