Meantime, keep asking at > Inter-Library Loan. I'll admit that I am a "youngster" when it comes to genealogy, but consider myself a forward thinker. How about asking them to consider publishing the book in an electronic format, such as with Adobe Acrobat (PDF format). I have two Adobe Acrobat (PDF) books on my website, one for my Nienhaus family tree and the other for my Hollon/Holland family tree. Rootweb's Guide to Tracing Your Family Tree is also available in PDF (for free), and companies like IBM make their books available in PDF (for free). It is truly the wave of the future. For examples, see: http://rwguide.rootsweb.com/ http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/ To view a PDF file, a small program called Adobe Acrobat Reader is needed. It is available free to anyone from Adobe's website. The product to create PDF's has to be purchased (i.e. that's where Adobe makes their profit). Creating a PDF works just like printing. From *any* application, you print to the PDF Printer Driver and it prompts you for a file name and "prints" a PDF file. The PDF can be placed on a website, and then anyone can download it and view it offline, print it, have it printed at Kinko's, etc. If organization that published the book will provide the electronic source file (i.e. the word processor file) and PERMISSION, I will create the PDF for them. I only takes a few minutes, literally. -- \\\|/// \\ ~ ~ // ( @ @ ) ------- oOOo-(_)-oOOo---------------------------- Timothy J.
