    3. - Hi All, My update to the 'Cemetery Listings and Maps for Grayson County' is coming together (it's hand crafted and rather labor intensive). As an interim measure I have made a temporary web page that links to 'MapBlast' and provides driving directions to 250 Cemeteries (that have Latitude/Longitude values in my database) from Independence, VA: http://www.ls.net/~newriver/Grayson/Cems/Drive_to_Cems.htm Notes: 1) This material is from Public Domain sources and should be used only for 'Reference'. 2) The actual address of the Visitor Center is actually 107 East Main Street, but, MapBlast changes the address to 107 West Main Street. 3) 'Off road' destination end points in MapBlast are often ambiguous, however, the Cemetery should be within 200 feet of that reported. BTW, the 'Customize' button on the MapBlast page will allow the user to select more detailed directions. 4) No mapping website has updated their data to include the newer '911' Street Names. A map containing them can be purchased from the 'Grayson County Visitor Center' (540) 773-3711. 5) The web page above, when printed, occupies 28 '8.5x11' pages. For faster reloads of the page I suggest you copy it to your hard drive and load it into your browser from there. The material I am working on will load in smaller chunks. Below are two web pages that show the final format for the individual Cemetery pages: http://www.ls.net/~newriver/Grayson/Cems/Adams_Cem.htm http://www.ls.net/~newriver/Grayson/Cems/Anders_Cem.htm I am not satisfied with the 'locator map' at the top of each page. If anyone has a suggestion for a better symbol to use, instead of a line and dot, let me know. - Paul B. Anderson FCCS (USN, Retired) Norfolk, VA
