Survivors include two daughters, Helen Fielder and Mrs. James Franks of Galax; three sons and daughters?in?law, Ewell and Thelma Spivey, Olen and Blanche Spivey and Camet and Rita Spivey, all of Galax; a sister, Clarice Eichenauer of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Claxton Houseman of Pulaski and Frank Houseman of San Jose, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 21 great?grandchildren; five great?great?grandchildren; and three step?great?grandchildren. A funeral was held Wednesday at Vaughan?Guynn Funeral Home with burial in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The Revs. James Billings and Camet Spivey officiated. Spivey of Galax, a Carroll Co. native, died in a Galax hospital on May 30. For many years he operated Spivey's Store in the Spivey Hill section of Galax. He is survived by his wife, 5 daughters, three sons, one sister, three brothers, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 1 at Calvary Baptist Church, Galax, by the Rev. Robert C. Wells and the Rev. Brady Snow. Burial was in Monta Vista Memory Gardens. viii.
