This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Parsons, Reeves Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/jAC.2ACE/607 Message Board Post: Does anyone have any information on John Parsons who was a law officer (possibly Sheriff or Marshal) in Independence, VA during 1907 or the years before and after? My great-great-grandfather Richmond Bourne Reeves was hiding from him in 1907, and left VA for good shortly afterwards. I would like to correspond with anyone who is descended from or has information on the man I'm talking about.
I know of two Parsons that were law officers - both died from being shot in the line of duty. BOth died before 1907 - one was Isaac Cox Parsons, s/o John W. & Catherine "Katy" Cox Parsons. Isaac died Sep 1890. His brother, James Crittenden Alexander died in 1903 in Centralia, WA. If you find another one from this family, I'd love to know who it was..
