Gazette will be of interst to many Madison county residents: "Uncle Stevie Boyer died at the home of his son, Eph. T. Boyer, in the west end of town last Saturday, after a lingering illness of no special disease, but a general wearing out. He was born June 23, 1820, and died January 21, 1911, being 90 years old. He was married to Miss Polly Busic, March 30, 1844. Unto this union ten children were born, eight of whom survive him. They are Harvey Boyer, Baywood; E. T. and Isaac Boyer, Independence; Johnson Boyer, West Virginia; Bob Boyer, Curlew, Neb.; and Joe Boyer, of Heppner, Oregon. Mr. Boyer was one of our county's best citizens, and in the passing of such men the community sustains an irreparable loss."
