My ancestor was John Swindle, Jr. b. 1779 VA d. 12-29-1853 Grayson Co VA. John Swindle lived his life in Ashe Co NC, and had 6 children there. But he came to his daughter's home in VA to die and be buried. His daughter was Ruth Swindle who married James S. Rector and settled in Grayson Co VA. I think John is buried on the Rector Farm in Grayson Co. I am also looking for James Swindle, s/o John, Jr. James Swindle b. 1807 was in the 78th VA Militia, which later became the 63rd VA Infantry. James went in 1862 and mustered out 1864. He and Jack Phipps were stationed at Mocassin Gap. I would appreciate corresponding with Swindle researchers, Rector researchers, and especially would like to find more info about my James Swindle, I have no marriage or death info for him.
