Lelia C. Tatum PORTSMOUTH - Lelia Maude Carmichael Tatum, 86, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006. She was a native of Franklin County, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Henry and Julia Ferguson Carmichael. She was the wife and companion of the late and adored James Walter Tatum. Lelia loved joking and telling stories to her children and grandchildren of happenings in her early days. She is survived by one son, Leroy Tatum; five daughters, Myrtle Linville, Nancy Pettit, Ann Logsdon, Joan Thames, Carolyn Ferguson; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Mary Tatum, Mable Hatcher and Pearl Mobley. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Cary Borkert with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
