    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Henderson Kilby Pennington Gallentine Reinke Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.virginia.counties.grayson/131.3.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: It's a match! Elizabeth Kilby Pennington Henderson was my gg grandmother. One of William and Elizabeth's sons was Andrew Jackson Henderson. He went by Jackson, and was sometimes listed as AJ. He married Mary Caldona Coe 24 May 1891, in Ashe County NC. She went by Callie. It is unclear how many children they had, but one was my grandmother, Lennie, born in VA, 4 April 1897. I'm thinking Washington County but not sure. The family story is that they moved to Oregon around the turn of the century, and had a cattle ranch around La Grande. The family lost the cattle ranch one icy winter when all the cattle slipped to their deaths, down the sides of the icy mountains or buttes. Can't find any records on them in Ore. The next records I find on them are the 1910 Census, where they are listed in Coppei, Walla Walla County, WA Lennie Henderson first married William Gallentine. They had 2 sons Ben and Bill Gallentine. William died in a hunting accident in 1924, before son Bill was even born. I have a picture of William and Lennie Henderson Gallentine, 1924 Lennie's second merriage was to Pet Henderson. (No relation) They had a daughter Betty Joe. Not long after, Pet died of a heart attack. Lennie's third merriage was to my grandfather Gus Reinke. Gus was 57 and Lennie 34. Not long after, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and at the same time, found out she was expecting her 4th child. My father Merle was born by C section on 29 March, 1931. Lennie was pronounced dead the following day, she never woke from the surgery. My father (premature, and only 3 lbs) was given to some friends of the family, while his half siblings were raised by their grandparents, Jackson and Callie Henderson. Throughout the years, my father lost track of siblings Ben, Bill and Betty. In 1967 they were reunited when Ben was dieing of cancer in Oregon. After that many years went by with no contact till in 2002, when I found my Uncle Bill for my dad. Since then Uncle Bill has had many great family stories to tell. Sorry, I got a little carried away-that's a lot more than you wanted to know! I would love to hear from you, there is a lot I don't know...Yet! Thanks, Eloyce
