    3. :The Virginian-Pilot; :Jan 31, 2007; :Hampton Roads; :21 Eveline G. Haynes NORLINA - Eveline Goodman Haynes, 76, went to be with the Lord Jan. 27, 2007, having passed away at home. Mrs. Haynes was a longtime resident of Virginia Beach who formerly lived at 2413 Colony Drive. Born in Wise County, Virginia, March 26, 1930, Eveline was the daughter of the late Jess and Nanny Goodman. She was preceded in death by her oldest brother, Herschel Goodman, killed in World War II and husband Carl T. Haynes, a retired veteran. Surviving family members include brothers, Hobert, Edward, Howard, Jess, Cecil and Clyde Goodman; sister, Christine Goodman; children, Frank and Glenn Smith, Barbara Hazelwood, Peggy Boehm, David Haynes and Nancy Noble; stepdaughter, Deborah Potter, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eveline will be greatly missed by all who knew or met her. A hard worker and homemaker, she sacrificed greatly and put others first. Eveline will not be forgotten. Family and friends will be received Thursday at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral procession will leave from 1303 Skylark Drive, Virginia Beach, Friday at 1:15 p.m. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Norfolk, 312 Kempsville Road.
