Hello everyone, I recently typed up the research of my mother, who researched the Porter Families of Wythe and Grayson for years, trying to find connections between our ancestor, George Porter, and the other Porter's in the area of Grayson and Wythe. The research is about 11 pages long and in a Word file - it lists many of the different Porter's that were in Grayson and Wythe in the late 1700's and early 1800's. Dear Amy, My children's grandmother was Vera Porter Wilson born 4 March 1908 Grayson County VA,died 5 July 1998 Galax VA. Vera's father was Andrew Porter,also of Grayson County VA. Also, if you have anything on Andrew's father Stephen C. Porter who md. Nancy C. Unknown, I would appreciate that as well. I don't know who Stephen's parents were. Amy, I would really appreciate any information you are willing to share. My connection is through Catherine Porter who married Richard Chandler on 13 Feb 1798, Wythe Co., VA. I also found a note that shows Richand and Catherine's son, David Chandler married "Mary Jane Porter," but this is unproven at this time. Appreciate any help because tracing Chandler and Porter genealogy tends to send me in circles!
