The speaker, John T. Humphrey, is an award-winning author and lectures frequently at national and local conferences. Mr. Humphrey is the current president of the Mid-Atlantic Germanic Society, vice president of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania, and a past vice president of the Pennsylvania Chapter of Palatines to America. He was a former Director of the National Genealogical Society, Learning Center in Arlington, Virginia. At NGS he managed several national and regional conferences, and was responsible for the home study and online courses. Humphrey is a recipient of the National Genealogical Society's Distinguished Service Award. Topics will be: "Reconstructing Families on the Colonial Frontier"; "Using Church Records Effectively"; "The Moravians: Eighteenth-Century Clerics and Clerks"; "Finding Records Your North Carolina Ancestors Left in Pennsylvania" The registration fee includes lunch. Walk-ins are welcome; however workshop packets may not be available. I think this was 16 years of age, but someone can correct me if I am wrong? You will have access to all of Paul Herndon's cemetery files as I Scan them to PDF.     3. I don't find the cemetery listed in either Grayson or Carroll Co. Does anyone know where the cem. is located? Thanks. Bette Dottie Nell Moore, 86, of Galax, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at her home. She was the widow of Howard Albrey Moore. She was born Feb. 12, 1920, in Galax to Curtis William and Flora Rector Lundy. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Leftwich of Clemmons, N.C., and Peggy Kaplan of Silver Springs, Md.; eight grandchildren, Curtis Leftwich, Glen Leftwich, Angela Wilson, Kevin Kaplan, Don Hall Jr., Teena Hall, Alex Hall and Crystal McCall; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James Curtis Leftwich. A funeral was held Saturday at Crap Creek Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Elder Bobby Absher officiated. Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
