I am developing a website for Virginia Counties and need someone that is familiar with this counties information to take a look and see if anything needs to be corrected or added. I especially need the website and physical addresses of the Local Genealogical and Historical Societies. Its located at http://www.segenealogy.com/virginia/vacnty08.htm I also have a map of the available censuses by state on a US map for all census years through 1920 at http://www.segenealogy.com/sgo03.htm If you have a website feel free to link to anything we have. Thanks in advance. Becky Southeastern Genealogy Online www.segenealogy.com

Does anyone on the list have Deeds or Wills for Grayson Co. VA for 1820-1830? I need a lookup for Jesse Lynch/Linch 1820-1830 Deed or Will. Thank You Wanda
Does anyone on this list have the 1810 Grayson Co. VA census? I need a lookup for Jesse Lynch/Linch Thank You Wanda
Wanda, From the website, ls.net/~newriver/va/grayson.htm I found Jesse Linch on the 1810 Grayson Co. Tax List. On April 11, 1810, he was listed with 1 white male tithable and 1 horse. The New River Notes website is an excellent source of Grayson Co. information. They have many tax lists on there. There are no censuses available for the early years, so they are being reconstructed by tax lists. Hope this helps. Thanks to everyone who responded to my queries about Little Wilson Cemetery and cemetery records in Grayson County. Aloha, Michelle
Michelle, I don't know about the Galax-Carroll Library, but the library in Independence at one time had Grayson County cemeteries, deceased listed in a card file with cemetery identified, as I remember. Arless <snip> > Also, does the Galax-Carroll Regional Library have any cemetery records?
Hi, I am new to the list and will be visiting Grayson County in May. I hope to do some cemetery research. Can anyone give me directions from Galax to Little Wilson Cemetery? From the USGS map it appears to be between Grant and Volney. Also, does the Galax-Carroll Regional Library have any cemetery records? Any help would be appreciated. Michelle Aiea, Hawaii

Hello, I'm trying to track down family information from Grayson County, but am not familiar with the area or its resources. I'm trying to locate cemetery information for Mt. Olive Cemetery as well as information on how to request obituaries for this area. I have a few questions, and could really use some assistance, as I will be doing the bulk of this research by mail. 1) Is there an index for this cemetery at a local historical society? 2) Is there a caretaker that might be able to help me? 3) What newspaper(s) through the years would have covered the town of Fries? 4) Are copies of old newspapers available at a historical society or local library? Thanks so much! Sincerely, Melissa Cecil County, Maryland

Susan, What LONGs and/or HOWELLs are recorded in the Long cemetery? Also the PHIPPS and/or LONG individuals in the J.Dodge PHIPPS cemetery. We are also related to HASH, OSBORNE, and ANDERSON. Do you plan to put the cemetery listings on your web page? Arless
Susan, I'd like to know the cemetery listing for Boyden Hash d. 12-2-1940 and Enoch D. Hash d. 7-21-1909 if they're in your records. My sister and I plan another trip down to Grayson and would like to visit their gravesites. Thank you! Susan Interested in locating where James Jim Phipps b. 1789 d. 1838 is buried, my 4 grgrandfather or any other Phipps is buried, loose ends theory. My hat is off to anyone that is attempting to index or record the 526 cemeteries in Grayson Co VA. It deserves a web site. Good Luck Susan. from one who moved west Ron Phipps in Illinois. Susan I saw your posting in the Grayson digest. I am very much interested in locating the burial place of James Jim Phipps b. 1789 d. 1838, my 4 grgrandfather or any other Phipps that you have, Loose ends theory. It is my belief that James Jim Phipps was buried with Benjamin Phipps in his original burial plot in a (abandoned) cemetary. I understand that there about 526 cemetaries in Grayson VA good luck
