Would this Hannah Bourn be the same person as the Hannah in the family below? 1. A WRIGHT PUZZLE
    2. Bette Nelson
    3. I'm wondering if this Polly "Wright" was Polly Lindsey? Elisha Wright married Polly Lindsey 17 Apr 1838 - and is the only Wright that is feasible to be the father of Thursey and the other children.. However, given the number of marriages that are missing, it is also possible that this is was someone else! From the 1850 Grayson Census, it appears that whoever this Polly is that her husband had been married before Polly as there was at least one "son" that was too old to be Polly's children. Their was one other person enumerated with this family in 1850 - Stephen age 25 - laborer. But if Elisha Wright was the father, and was married before, I would presume that William was also from the prior marriage. More questions. And I can't see the family in the 1860 census. And only Thursa and her spouse in the 1870! As always, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. Bette Descendants of Polly Generation No. 1 1. POLLY1 was born 1815 in Grayson Co., VA. 3. I notice you list Rowland as a surname you are researching. I am interested in knowing if there are any Rowland/Roland (or any other variation) marriages that are listed in the book listed below. Dowdel/Dowdle and Rachel Rowland were in Lee County between 1803 and 1810 (then on to Indiana) but they may have been in other counties before - or even between those years. In 1803 they were Dowdle Rowland and Rachel Fletcher when they were admitted to membership by experience, but rejoined Thompson's Settlement Baptist Church as Dowdle and Rachel Rowland in 1807 ("Page 25 - 89 October third Saturday A.D. 1807- The church met and after divine service proceeded to business. First, received brother Dowdle Rollen and sister Rachel Rollen, the wife of Dowdle Rollen and sister Rebeccah Fletcher by letters.") so we wonder if they lived and married in some other location. I am also interested in communicating with individuals researching Rowlands to see if we can match up some families. Davis was born December 25, 1852 and departed this live Nov. 30, 1933 making his stay on earth 80 years, and 11 months. He was married to Mary Price over 60 years ago. Unto this union were born eleven children, nine of who are living and two are deceased. He joined the Pimitive Baptist Church at Maple Springs over 50 years ago but later moved his membership to Big Helton where he served forty years as Spokesman of the Church and remained a faithful member until death. He was a great defender of the doctorine and practices of the Primitive Baptists. He fought a good fight and kept the faith and finished his course with joy. Our beloved uncle has left the wery battlefield. His spirit has gone to the blessed heavenly home. His body is resting in the family cemetery by the side of his loving companion and is awaiting the Resurrection Morning when with shouts of triumph their bodies will rise and fly to meet Jesus in the skies. Blevins, B. H. Cem., Troutdale, Updated and completed. There are general views of all these cemeteries taken today when I was out gathering the information. The Mouth of Wilson Cemetery is in horrible shape and it is probable that some graves were missed in the brush. If you might have additional information on this one, please let me know. This one is in danger of being completely destroyed by cattle. The Pugh-Haynes Cem. is another that may not be complete. It is well fenced, but is overgrown with small brush and weeds. I tromped through it pretty good I thought, and was getting ready to leave and tripped over a stone I had missed the first time through.
