Diane, I have that Nellie, too, but didn't have her spouse. I would be interested in any information you have on her family if you are willing to share, and would be glad to share any more information with you that I have, which is mostly on the ancestry on Charles M. Burris. (I have nothing else on the children.) I believe this is probably the family you are looking for, below. If you have any questions, let me know. Btw, where it mentions the stones being vandalized in the cemetery.....my father-in-law has been the caretaker at the cemetery the last 20 or so years, and he said years ago a car full of teenagers drove through the fence at the cemetery and ran over these two stones. They were never replaced on the graves, but he found some of the pieces of the original stones in the church's storage shed. That is where the dates came from, piecing the stones together. I have a Cora Bess whose maiden name was Burris. She was born in 1897, and died in 1981. She was the d/o Lewis Franklin Burris and Louvenia McMillian, sister of George Herman, Ella D., Everett French, Hobert Mitchell, Samuel H., Greek S., Nellie, and Shirley R. Burris. Cheryl, Go to www.vitalrec.com and click on "States & Territories". Then click on the state you are interested in. For each state they have a chart listing the vital records, what years are available, how and where to obtain them, and the current fees charged. If request forms are required, there are links to download them. If you need to direct your inquiry to the counties, below the chart there are links to each county page which has their contact information. Good luck! Was there a Charles Jones, born about 1766-68 in Grayson County part of this family. He later lived in Henry Co., Va. and was married to Mary "Polly" King. I am trying to find the names of the parents of Charles Jones. They were definitely in Grayson during this time period. They may have migrated from Eastern Virginia earlier.
