Can anyone tell me if Elmer Davis, age 30 (1920 Carroll Co. VA Census) married to Maud 23, and parents of Ruby 7, Robert 5, Burtin 3 11/12 and Garnett 4/12 - was that Robert the Robert Henry Davis that married Agnes A. Patton - of the obit below? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Bette Agnes A. Davis, 85, of Fries, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at Twin County Regional Hospital. She was the widow of Robert Henry Davis. She was born Sept. 17, 1920, in Carroll County to Carl and Laura Brewer Patton. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Nada and Arlin Shupe of Troutdale, Linda and Larry Taylor of Ivanhoe and Kathy Hyatt of Galax; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Gayle and Janie Davis of Wytheville and Roger and Doris Davis of Hillsville; a sister, Hattie Parks of Galax; a brother, John Phipps Patton of Galax; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral was held Thursday at Mount Hope United Methodist Church with burial in the Mount Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Ken Blevins officiated. Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
