Unfortunately, alot of bogus information has been posted on Ancestry.com regarding these lines that has caused alot of confusion among researchers. There was a James Sears and I believe he married a Sarah Coffman, but that James was in Hampshire Co., which is now part of West Virginia. Some of that line moved on to Kentucky. The (Gloucester Co.,) William and Sarah Sears were not married until abt. 1763 and therefore could not be James parents. Sorry.
