At this time RootsWeb is experiencing problems. Not all areas are being affected the same way. Some of us, as County Coordinators, cannot upload new material to their sites or listers cannot post messages to the list. On the other hand, some areas do not seem to be affected at all. This problem started about 3-4 days ago and has been traced to the server alter.net that RootsWeb connects to, called the "backbone" server. Here is the latest update I have received regarding this problem. >>They said there are backbones in trouble and are in repair now. At this moment there is massive system abuse overseas (out of USA) along with extra heavy number of spams flooding the backbone right now.<< I hope they find/catch whom ever is responsible for this.
