These certificates show that these people lived in King and Queen Co., Va. during the Revolutionary period. They were for supplies for the Revolutionary Army. Not only were there Shacklefords in the area but Lynes, also. Colonial Abstracts, by Beverly Fleet Vol. 33: · Benjamin Shackelford (1733-1817) was captain of militia at the beginning of the war and subsequently commanded a battery of artillery. He was born in King and Queen County, Va.; died in Culpeper County. · Volume 56 page 65 Mrs. Amelia Shackelford Sullivan DAR ID Number 55137 Born in Madison, Wis. Wife of William K. Sullivan Also Nos. 6071, 12123 · Descendant of Capt. Benjamin Shackelford. Daughter of William Barlow Shackelford and Catherine Frances Collins, his wife.
