These certificates show that these people lived in King and Queen Co., Va. during the Revolutionary period. They were for supplies for the Revolutionary Army. Not only were there Shacklefords in the area but Lynes, also. Colonial Abstracts, by Beverly Fleet Vol. 33: · Benjamin Shackelford (1733-1817) was captain of militia at the beginning of the war and subsequently commanded a battery of artillery. He was born in King and Queen County, Va.; died in Culpeper County. · Volume 56 page 65 Mrs. Amelia Shackelford Sullivan DAR ID Number 55137 Born in Madison, Wis. Wife of William K. Sullivan Also Nos. 6071, 12123 · Descendant of Capt. Benjamin Shackelford. Daughter of William Barlow Shackelford and Catherine Frances Collins, his wife. Granddaughter of John Shackelford and Lucy Pendleton Tutt, his 2nd wife. Gr-granddaughter of Benjamin Shackelford and Martha Jones, his wife. Volume 56 Mrs. Helen Amelia Sullivan Cummings DAR ID Number 55138 Also No. 55137 Born in Chicago, Ill. Wife of James Gordon Cummings, Jr. Descendant of Capt. Benjamin Shackelford.
