I am looking for information about a Captain Sinclair who, I believe, was born in Scotland, but came to Virginia before the Revolutionary War. He was a sea captain and owned his own ship and traded with the West Indies. During the Revolutionary War, he evaded the British naval blockade of southern ports and went to Barbados, where he obtained supplies and military equipment. He brought these items back to Virginia and gave them to General George Washington and the Continental Army. Thank you very much for your kind assistance with my research. Sincerely, Susan M.
