Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hAC.2ACE/1255.1 Message Board Post: Camden may not have been a place (name) in Gloucester. I have an map showing where old plantations were located and there is a listing for "Camden". It was located in the upper part of Gloucester Co., in the Petsworth Parish area. It is close to the Piankatank River, just off Rt. 198 between Highgate and Boxley plantations. If your 1712 map shows a river above Camden, then this may be the same place. Sometimes when people would move to another location, they would rename the new plantation with the same name as their former plantation. So, if there is an earlier Camden and not near water, I don't have a location for that one.
