I am looking for information about my 6th G-grandparents, Captain Anthony SAVAGE and his wife Alice STAFFORD. Captain Anthony SAVAGE b) 1605 in Wales, d) 1695 in Gloucester County, VA. Alice STAFFORD b) 1610 in Gloucester County, VA d) ? Children of Anthony and Alice SAVAGE were: 1) Thomas SAVAGE, he married Susannah ? 2) Dorothy SAVAGE b) 1650 in Gloucester County, d) 1702 in Richmond County, VA. 3) Alice Stafford SAVAGE b) 1653 in Gloucester County, d) 1701 in Petsworth County, VA. She was married to Col. Francis THORTON in 1674. He was also born in Gloucester County, VA. Alice S. SAVAGE was the g-grandmother of President James Madison – if anyone is a descendant of that line. I am really interested in finding out when Captain Anthony SAVGE arrived in this country and about his job as “Justice” of Gloucester County in 1660.
