I may have asked this question before...in Petsworth district there was a place called "Scuffle town". I have an old survey (1847) of the property of Vernon Palmer and the road running North beside the property says "To the Dragon". The road running in the opposite direction runs South then South East says "To Scuffle town". This survey is not as descriptive as some I have seen, so I am not sure if the road is Turks Ferry Road or not. So, does anyone have any idea where Scuffle town was?? Also, does anyone have a list of any old place names that are not used now? Thanks, Jane
