He appears in the 1830 and 1840 Gloucester Census. He was the father of John William Robins (1822-1865) who died in Elmira, NY, as a war prisoner. His first wife was probably from the Enos family, from whom he acquired his land according of land tax records. His second wife was Sarah Blassingham, the widow of Jeremiah Burke of Mathews County. Widow Sarah Robins appears in the 1850 Gloucester census with her daughter Ann Maria Robins, b. 1842, and her two sons, William D. Burke and Jefferson Franklin Burke. They lived near Money Post Office, adjacent to present-day Gloucester airport, golf course, and first Walmart.
