It arrived while I was on vacation. I would very much like to know when and where Captain John Sinclair was born and when and where he died. Also if you could please give me some information about his career I would appreciate it. I set up Clan Sinclair booths at Celtic and Scottish festivals in Virginia and I have in a notebook information about famous Sinclairs in the United States for visitors to the booth to study. I wanted to put information about Captain John Sinclair in this notebook. I appreciate very much all of your assistance. Sincerely, Susan M. Grady

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Dunn,Forrest Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hAC.2ACE/1230 Message Board Post: I am searching for the father/mother for my John Dunn, who was b. abt 1780 Va. I have run across a marriage for a John Dunn(or Dun)in Gloucester Co.Va , between 20 dOct 1777 & 20 Oct 1778 to a woman named Mary Forrest. My question is: Does this John Dunn belong to anybody out there? If I can't prove he's ours,at least I can scratch him off my list of possibles. I believe that my John's father was also named John. and since the first son was rarely named after the father,i figure my John was down the line in children. It's been said that "John Dunn came over from Ireland, after his brother died." and since that can't be my John,it must be his father,as our John was b.in Va. Can anyone claim this John Dunn & Mary Forrest or tell me anything about them?? thanks.
