I took a quick peek at the York Co. site and found the VA Rent Roll for 1704 there. No Bass or Shackleford in Gloucester, but some in other counties, so will check those out too. That York Co. site has great links! I'll be going back again.

Dahl was listed in the 1900 Census as being 5 yrs old and Ruth was listed as being 9m. old. Later they moved to Norfolk Va. Most interested in obtaining the name of the church where Dahl is burried. The yard washed out graves and stones during a flood sometime after 1925 and he was reburried along side this church in a communal grave for all those washed up. Anyone know of the church, parish, etc. I would be more than happy to exchange info I have about the family since this generation. It is in a very marshy location. To get there you pass a Methodist church on the right with a grave yard across the road and the church I am looking for is a Baptist one on the left. The grave area is on the left of the church when facing it. The building is sort of small and very old.

DAU KIMBALL, m. PEYTON BROACH. iii. WILLIAM BLAINE KIMBALL, b. February 1886; m. MOORE. Notes for WILLIAM BLAINE KIMBALL: G-J: October 22, 1919, A distressing accident occurred Wednesday evening, Oct 22, 1919, about 7 o'clock, when Mr. Blaine Kimball received a gunshot wound in the thigh. Mr. Kimball, who during the war was Lieutenant-Commander of a transport, has been spending some time in the county with his wife, visiting his father, Mr. Charles Kimball, and his wife's mother, Mrs. John Moore. He had been on a hunting trip Wednesday and returning, was met by his wife with a horse and buggy in the road in front of Robert Johnson's place. In getting into the buggy Mr. Kimball's shotgun was discharged in some manner and the charge entered his left thigh, inflicting a very serious wound. Dr. Davis was called and, probing the wound, removed a number of shot and pieces of cloth. Mr. Kimball was taken to a hospital at Richmond this morning for further treatment and was resting as comfortable as could be expected at last reports. Notes for MOORE: living in NY when Peachie died. iv. CHRISTIAN J. KIMBALL, b. December 1887. v. ROSE KIMBALL, b. November 1891. vi. ANNIE KIMBALL, b. November 1893. vii. GARRETT "UREY" KIMBALL, b. Notes for LAURA BELLE KIMBALL: Mr. Charles S. Kimball of Bellamy received a telegram from Baltimore Wednesday morning, Dec 15, 1920, giving the sad news of the death of his youngest daughter, Miss Laura Belle Kimball, in that city Tuesday. The telegram stated that she had been killed in an automobile accident, but gave no details. Tuesday's Baltimore News states that a young woman was knocked down Monday night by an automobile driven by William S. Johnson, that she had not yet recovered consciousness (Tuesday morning) at the Franklin Square Hospital, and was believed to have a fractured skull. The News article stated that the girl's identity was unknown but she was thought to be about 17 years old. Miss Kimball was 18 years old and it is quite possible that she was the victim of the accident described in the Baltimore newspaper. Besides her father she is survived by four brothers, Blaine, Chris, Charlesa and Urey, and three sisters, Emma, Katherine and Mrs. Peyton Broach, of Baltimore. Generation No. 4 4. EMMA4 KIMBALL (ANNIE M.3 HIBBLE, CHRISTIAN B.2, JACOB1) was born January 03, 1900. She married WAGNON. Child of EMMA KIMBALL and WAGNON is: i. MILLARD5 WAGNON, m. MICKEY.

Hi, fellow searchers, Forgive me if you get more than one of this message---I am posting it to several lists. I am doing a one-name study on the surname DIDLAKE, and its multitude of spellings. The DIDLAKES originated in King & Queen and surrounding counties in VA, then those who didn't stay in VA spread mainly to KY, AL and MS, with branches in IL, KS, OK and TX. I have lots of information on the KY branch and all of its descendants and quite a bit on AL and MS; I've been working on the VA DIDLAKES and would love to collaborate with any of you who have any DIDLAKE information. I plan to set up a DIDLAKE web site in the next few months so everybody can have access to the information. If any of you have any DIDLAKES in your files, I would appreciate it if you would share with me. Sometimes the least little clue can make all the difference! I'd be happy to share anything I have.
