This would give strong credence, but not proof that Margie & Hubbard are Sarah & Hersey's children.

I have Phillip Fisher Mason 1802-1869 listed as my great, great grandfather. He was married to Amanda Bland 1824-1892. The children were Winborn, Rosa Ann,Milton, Roberta, Lucy Hersey and William Lloyd. The first four are listed in the 1850 census in Gloucester County.(The others weren't born yet). Milton lived in Portsmouth later on and interestingly enough in his obit they listed only a sister Rosa Ann Booker as a sibling. I don't know why.

Send him a message, I think he would be glad to hear from you. (if that does not work I will call his office and get the correct one) I do not have a Milton Summerfield Mason as one of the children, but then again I'm just working a little on Masons. Would you please send me what you have as the brothers and sisters. Did Milton live here in gloucester? Also, Gloucester geneology society just put up the 1900 census. There might be something on there for you. I found Phillip H Mason with 7 children but only 6 listed. Hersey is a really neat guy, you will enjoy talking with him. I live here in Gloucester and am just beginning to rummage throught the deed records, will etc. It is really nice to be here where a lot of information is but it looks like it only goes back to about 1860. The disagreement of 1860-65 created havoc with records. Bob

A number of years ago, my father went thru some old pictures with his sister and identified an old cardboard back picture (circa 1900) as "Penny Booker" standing in front of Salem Church. The description I have heard regarding Miles Henry Booker is quite close in similarity, but I cannot be certain. Miles H. Booker was living with my grgrgrandmother, Nancy Booker, on the 1850 census. If anyone has ever heard mention of a "Penny" Booker, please let me know. I certainly would like to know his real name.

Hersey Mason who lives here now tells me that My grandfather, Edward Yancy Plummer and his grandfather, Phillip Hersey Mason were great friends way back when. They both lived on land that was once called Turks Ferry Farm. So I have no direct line to the Mason, just an interest and I had told my cousins that I would try and get each of their familys back to at least 1800.

P.H.Mason bought 895 acres in 1888. In 1921 Edward Yancy Plummer bought 26 acres from the widow of L. P. Bland. the 26 acres excludes the grave yard (1 acre) of P.H.Mason. Also my cousin remembers a grave yard on her fathers property in 1940 or so. Her father is Eugene Booker and he may have gotten the land from his father who married Rosa Ann Mason. Rachel says all the grave markers are long gone and no one wrote down the names. This is at Woods Cross Roads. Just thought you like to know.

I will try again on a weekend. I have not found the graves of the Sears your hunting for. I'm afraid they may have used wooden crosses in those days and so we may never find them. But, then again, you never can tell! The other day I found a grave yard at Turks Ferry that was set aside in the sale of some land. It was for the Mason family. I'm sure Hersy Mason knows of it. Also, my cousin told me about one maybe for the Bookers or Mason in Woods Cross Roads - unfortuantely that one is lost. All markers are gone. We should have started are search about 1940 or so.

    3. Pass this along please>>>> Subject: Purple Ribbons A movement has been started like that from Desert Storm. During Desert Storm we tied yellow ribbons anywhere we could. Well, now the movement is to tie purple ribbons the same way. This is for two reasons. 1. In remembrance of not only the firefighters, police officers, paramedics who have died, but also for all who have died in this terrible tragedy. 2. Just as in the military, when a serviceman get injured, he is given the Purple Heart. Well, our country has been injured to its core. Please pass this on to everyone you know, and let's see purple ribbons everywhere. Along with the flag of the United States of America. -- ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø Every time I find an ancestor I need to find two more! ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø
