    3. From GILES COUNTY VIRGINIA HISTORY AND FAMILIES, Vol 1: " COBURN - Thomas and Cynthia Ford Coburn were the parents of William Thomas Coburn born in Giles County on June 14, 1830. William was a millright in Monroe Co. when he married Sarah Broyles on Jan 1, 1854. Later in life, he became a self-taught doctor and was known as 'Dr. Billy' often making his medicines from herbs. He and Sarah were the parents of 4 sons; Henry B., Alfred Berman, George W., & Allen Green Coburn. George W & Whelhelmina Priddy Coburn were parents of William, Georgia, Lonice B., H. Jenkins, Agnes and Melvina......" I have a picture postcard, ca. 1906 with a distant view of the N&W station at Narrows. If you would like a copy, I can scan it and send it to you. J.
