    1. Re: Hale/Lucas and Harless Price book
    2. Richard Epling
    3. Thanks. I have all that, too. I was just wondering if anyone knows John Price's parents. It's kind of a too-common name to find through regular searching. There were just too many Price's all over the place back then. In fact, my great-grandfather, Paris Epling,b.1848, Giles Co., married Emma Jane Price, who is no relation to any of the Price's of Va. Her family came from NJ originally, her father was born in Indiana and she was born in Iowa. Paris lived with John and Margaret for a while before lying about his age and joining the army in the last year of the civil war. And then he ends up marrying a Price, himself, in Ill. in 1875. Odd coincidence, right? Isaac Epling was my 3rd great-grandfather. I see a lot of matching names in your list. My 2nd great-grandfather, Allen, son of Isaac, married Elizabeth Nida. She was the daughter of Jacob Nida and Sarah. Sarah was either a Kessinger or a Harless, she's connected to both names somehow, I just haven't been able to figure out the connection yet. Also, you mentioned Paul's alias, John Miller;have you come across any clue why he was using that name early on? Personally, I think it might have been his first wife's maiden name but all we know about her for sure is that her first name was Margaret. Paul's real name was probably Ebling since that is the name he signed on his will in 1809. Richard
