Oh my gosh - I just lost my breath!!! I am desperately trying to find some info on my grandparents, Eli C. Hudson and Mary Matilda (Hawkins) Hudson (he was born in 1882 and she in 1884) - I have some info on him but ABSOLUTELY nothing on her - it is as if she never existed. I've heard she was born in Sparta, NC - but perhaps also in/around Galax, VA. If I could just find something on her parents/siblings, I would be so happy. There is a rumor that her father's name was Jeff Hawkins, and also that she was related somehow to Davey Crockett. I still have an uncle that lives in Rich Creek and I love it there. We'll be going to Beckley, WV next week and I hope to check some records. We'll only be about an hour away from Rich Creek - do you know if the books are still for sale somewhere?
