    3. Betsy, just happen to have the 1815 Giles Co Tax List in front of me. Jacob Taylor listed as one male over 16, no slaves, 4 horses and 11 cattle. Taylor, Jacob 1-0-4-11 Taylor, Peter, Jr 1-0-1-0 Taylor, Mary 1-0-8-18 Taylor, John, Sr. 1-0-1-0 Taylor, George 1-0-0-0 For Jacob, references Giles Deed Bk 1, pg 270 "Adam and Jacob Taylor to Tarlton Bell--land at mouth of Little Creek of Sinking Creek, witnesses Joseph Taylor, Robert Hunter, 1812." For Adam, Giles Deed Bk 1, pg 97. John Shepherd to Tarleton Bell--78a., part of 150 a. granted Adam Taylor, on south side Sinking Creek, 1808." pg 332. "Adam Taylor to Robert Hunter--161 a. on Sinking Creek, adjacent to William Pines and David Tawney. Wit: Tarlton Bell, William Webb, Joseph Taylor, 1814." >From "A Brief of Wills and Marriages in Montgomery and Fincastle Counties. Virginia, 1733-1831" there are several Taylors. One in particular sounds like it might be yours. The abstract says: "Taylor, George. Will probated Mar., 1801. Names--wife, Mary; and children, James, Joseph, Adam, Jacob, George, Urlie, John, Elizabeth, Mary, Susannah, and Anna. Also his wife's brother, John Charlton. Says his present wife the mother of four of his children." Other Taylor will include Charles, another George, three Isaacs, two Johns, Lewis, and William. Hope this is helpful.
