James French, in turn, ended up marrying a Susan Hughes, d/o Reuben Hughes c 1789. David E. Johnston's History of the Middle New River Settlements noted this incident in his book. James and Susan, by the way were husband and wife until her death in the 1820s. He then married a Margaret Day of Tazewell, VA As for who Annie may have married the second time, I have no idea.
