Hi, I understand you have the Census for Giles County. Would you check for the Riddle's in that year. Possibly Benjamin Riddle. I have been trouble locating him anywhere. I know he owned a farm there at a later date. Thanks, Frances Riddle Tomblin
Hi Kitty. say you have the 1860 Giles Census. would you check to see if MADISON RIGGS is listed, or any other RIGGS for that matter, Thanks, Jerry

Pam, Thanks for being on top of things. I guess after all the many years I have been searching. I think everyone will recheck ALL information? I forget to mention it, and I should ... as I have found so many errors on my own lines. Thanks again, Kitty
Hi Sandy, We just came back from Ft Myers. Beautiful and 80 degrees. Came back to snow! About your Moye family. I have the 1850 census and the 1860 census for Giles. Have you seen the 60 census? It is annotated with some good information on some families, and Elijah is listed. 62 years old. If you don't have the info from it I will be happy to type and send. By the way it stated Elijah's parents were Marmaduke & Polly (Carlton Moye) if you don't have it. Will wait to hear from you. Kitty

Well. that would be great if I had any further Chapman info to relate, but I don't. All I can tell you (assuredly) is just what I did in my e-mail. But on the other hand, if you wanted some French-related info, I could possibly oblige. Take care, Bob
Thanks Bob for the Chapman info - I had French shown on my information as a husband of Annie. Perhaps we could exchange Chapman information. Regards, Jim Burcham

Just so you know, Annie Chapman, d/o John Chapman, did NOT marry James French at any point in time. Although she and James had a marriage bond posted in 1787, she apparently ran off with a Lybrook man (John) who "came for her" on or near the actual wedding day. James French, in turn, ended up marrying a Susan Hughes, d/o Reuben Hughes c 1789. David E. Johnston's History of the Middle New River Settlements noted this incident in his book. James and Susan, by the way were husband and wife until her death in the 1820s. He then married a Margaret Day of Tazewell, VA As for who Annie may have married the second time, I have no idea. In any event, I just thought that you may want to correct your ancestral file on this one. Take care, Bob
