Thanks Sally, I already had Agnes Marshall and Ralph Lucas. However, what information do you have about the Will of John Marshall and Agnes. Supposedly, Agnes brother John named her in his Will. I'd assumed John had no offspring, but I have found census data to indicate possibly otherwise. I'd be interested in John's wifes name as well. It is possible that Jessee Kelly had a brother James. A couple of us think that Jessee was the son of Malachi Kelly. The following is research by Gary Kelley: **************************************************************************** ***************************** "Malachi Kelly had 8 children and his wife was already dead when he died in 1783. At least 3 of the children were very young (Jessee was only about 3 when Malachi died), and all 8 were not yet of age. Therefore, he probably wasn't much older than 50, and may have been as young as 35. Possibly, he was born sometime between 1728 to 1748. New Jersey Wills, Vol 35, page 138 - 1783 Feb 1. Here to fore, In the context I'd assumed that this was the 2nd wife of Thomas Marshall b. 1752 in Westmoreland Co who married Sallie Johnston b. 1752 d. 1790 in Culpeper, Va. However, I'm now believing that this was Thomas and Sallie's son Thomas. Can anyone shed any light on this>
Does anyone recognize this William Stuart? 1804 Montgomery County, Virginia marriage bond. William Stuart and Caty Harless. Surety Philip Harless. Who were their parents? What were their birth dates? Bob, Up until this last 1-2 weeks, my family list only went back as far as William Howard Carr and Mary Ann Oliver. I now have his parents, grandparents, and great grandparents. My Mother's great, great, great grandmother was an American Indian. I have been trying for a few years to find out about her, her name, tribe, etc. But my Mother does not know, and other family members don't either. There is a great, great Aunt who supposedly has a picture of her and knows her name. I wrote and asked her for information about her and possibly a picture of her about 18 months ago, however, she has never answered. I was wondering if you have any information on Margaret Hannah Crow? I picked her because her name (Crow) sounds like it might be Indian. I'm not sure what tribes were located in that area. Oh, by the way, where was Margaret Hannah Crow born, live, etc.? Thanks for your help. This has been very exciting for me to finally find even just a little information after all this time. Most of my family aren't interested in genealogy, but the more I research and dig for clues, the more interested I become. Well, with all these new Blankenships on the list, is it possible that any of you had kin in Kansas in the early 1900s? My great grandmother, Emma Jane [Williamson] Baldridge married someone named Blankenship after her husband died sometime after 1910, not sure when but their last child was born in 1909. I don't even have the second husbands first name and I'd love to find out what it was. She died in 1959 at the age of 93. This marriage would have been in or around Wichita. Please respond directly since this isn't a va-roots question, per se. Richard mailto:[email protected]

Ron, you'll find the 1806 tax list online on the Newriver Notes website run by Jeff Weaver. The address is: http://www.ls.net/~newriver/nrv.htm There are five Blankenships listed, Richard, Shedrick, Peter, Jesse and Archibald. The first two have 2 white tithes, probably indicating a male over 16 in addition to the head of household. At least, I think only males of taxable age were included. They only list heads of household, though.
