Served in a cavalry co. for 4-5-weeks, but did not join that Co. Returned to duty 1/8/63. Paroled 6/23/65 at Charleston W.Va, age 24 yrs., illiterate. Brother of Stephen. See 17th Va. Cavalry. PERDUE, STEPHEN MCHENRY.: Farmer. Enlisted 7/24/61 Giles C. H. Rolls for 7/63-2-65, detailed as battalion wagoner. Deserted, took oath and sent north 3/23/65, age 23 yrs.

    3. One of our Tazewell Co. civil war soldiers / g...fathers Jordon Efferson Bowling is also buried in the Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond. They have a card file with thousands of names of soldiers who are buried there, even though they might not have a grave marker. We are able to pinpoint the grave with their card file information and a few years ago, we were able to put a grave marker from the Veterans Administration on his grave, after all these years.
