Hello, I'm researching St.Clairs in Mercer Co. W.Va, McDowell Co. W.Va, Raleigh Co. W.Va, Fayette Co. W.Va, Giles Co.Va. and surrounding areas. My information is scarce. I'm wondering if anyone on these lists, who may also be on lists of the surrounding counties would do census lookups of St.Clairs, any county, any year, I'm desperate. My grandfather was James William St.Clair, born abt 1885 in or near Elgood W.Va. He reportedly had brothers Rufus and Walter and at least 1 sister Elizabeth. I have a Charlie Davis born in Giles VA in 1890 - Father Ben Davis - Mother Francis Whitaker Davis - Would someone please do a look up for them. The post below is so close but the dates are off and I was told Francis lived on land given to her in VA till she died - then the State took it back and sold it . Perhaps on the 1880 census?
