    3. From what I understand, proposed by-law amendments need to be sponsored by x-amount of XXGenWeb's to be placed on the ballot for the annual election that's coming up in August. I haven't read the amendments thoroughly, but will give an opinion if anyone wants it. I do know that certain folks are trying to break up the USGenWeb Archives and put them into the control of the XXGenWeb's. I would not agree with that. Since starting the USGenWeb Archives in June 1996, I've fought many attempts to either destroy or split them up, for one purpose or another. The Archives, operating under much stricter guidelines than the USGenWeb county sites, etc., have been successful and we now have about 4 megs of textual data, and 27 gigs of scanned images - for permanent free storage. The people that are trying to change the USGenWeb Archives, by destroying or splitting, are not active in that project.
