    3. Hello Tami and welcome, I enjoyed visiting your site. I like animation, the only possible problem with animation though is that some slower computers take a long time to download it. I think it's time to take off the "under construction" sign because your site looks well built, and very thorough to me. 3. I have been slowly moving my web pages off Geocities for about a month. I have about 70 more pages to go. All that is left is my own genealogy as all of the New Kent County pages have been moved. I had to sign up with Yahoo, yesterday, to access my Geocities files. :-( Christine New Kent Linda wrote: > > An article on Yahoo buying Geocities: > > Yahoo: Your House Is My House > by Declan McCullagh > > 3:00 a.m. 29.Jun.99.PDT > If you're a GeoCities homesteader, be warned: > Your Web site is no longer your own. > > http://www.wired.com/news/news/technology/story/20472.html > > Linda

    3. Tami, Just took a look at your county and that is some genealogy for Pulaski Co.! I did notice that the hot link to New Kent Co. is the old url. I moved last month to: http://www.rootsweb.com/~vanewken/ The page loaded quickly for me. 3. Not from this address, but from other's. Whenever I see someone who's been infected I send them this ... Freddie ======================================= Your email to me indicates that your system has been infected with the HAPPY99 virus. It doesn't damage your system or corrupt any data, but it can spread like wildfire if unchecked because it attaches itself to every email you send and every newsgroup message you post. To learn more about this virus, go to URL: http://ww.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/happy99.worm.html You can removing the worm manually by: 1. delete WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SKA.EXE 2. delete WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SKA.DLL 3. replace WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WSOCK32.DLL with WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WSOCK32.SKA 4. delete the downloaded file, usually named HAPPY99.EXE Or there's a utility that will do it for you called HAPPY99CLEANER available free at URL. http://www.download.com/DD/dl/0,302,0-0309-1-017,00.html =========================================================== On 29-JUN-1999 13:26:20.0 VAGEN-L said to FSPRADLIN `I just received this with the Happy99.exe attached. `X-Diagnostic: Unprocessed `X-Envelope-To: OLD-FREDERICK-CO-VA-L-request

    1. Re: [VAGEN-L] VA Research Help Needed
    2. Carmen Finley
    3. Pam and other CCs, There are a variety of places to find help---some free and some for $$$. I carry these on my page: A Genealogy Helplist has been developed by Mike Rice. This is a substantial list of volunteers who are willing to help others with items of interest at institutions near them, or help with other information easily accessible to them. European countries are included as well as the US. Genie Angels. A network of 'Angel' volunteers to assist each other in obtaining documents for genealogical research without paying exorbitant prices charged by some facilities and to eliminate the long delay awaiting a reply. Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness. Volunteers of this movement agree to either videotape cemeteries or do look-ups of information in the county where they live. Join them as a volunteer or ask for help. Need Professional Help? Here is the roster of professional researchers certified by the Board for Certification of Genealogists. You can get the URL's from my Lookups page at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~vaaugust/augusta4.htm Carmen Finley At 12:57 PM 6/29/99 -0400, you wrote: >Hi All, > >I have a cousin who lives out west who is looking for someone in VA to >do some research for pay for her. What she needs is this: All I need is for someone to look up the wills of various colonial family members as listed in the VA will book, etc. I have all the names and counties, years, etc. I just need someone who has access to look them up, copy or have copied and mail to me. I assume it would not be that difficult though I am not familiar with hands on research in VA facilities. If you know of anyone, you can write to me or directly to her.
