    3. I thought we had someone who was takeing it. i offered, but i didnt get it. if you still need someone i'l take it, although charity begins at home, and there isnt money left to send to rootsweb., as much as i'd like to. Mail list's are no trouble at all. i just have enough to do with the websites so i dont want that at the moment. -----Original Message----- From: Jeannie <madamx@trellis.net> To: VAGEN-L@rootsweb.com <VAGEN-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Saturday, December 04, 1999 1:42 PM Subject: [VAGEN-L] Loudoun Co. 3. Linda, I think the map looks great... two suggestions: Is it possible to do the counties in different colors to make the border stand out better? Also, it may be easier to read the names if they were at the bottom of the map with a number or letter code to connect them to the correct spot? Just a thought... 2. Freddie Spradlin
    3. Some of you may have gotten questions about counties in KY with the same name as VA counties. I've now linked those counties on the state page to a page that describes the sequence of those county's formation and the re-use of their names for later VA counties. Six of the nine VA counties which went to make up the fledgling state of KY, had the names re-used. four of the six "new" counties wound up in WV. A seventh KY county (Lincoln) had the name re-used in WV, but I'd guess the namesake was a different person. ... 8^) http://www.rootsweb.com/~vagenweb/kentucky.htm There've been a number of questions in the past about VA's western lands, so I posted excerpts from two books that describe the ceding of these lands to Congress, and the formation of the various "Territories" and the eventual rise to statehood (IN, IL, MI, OH, WI). http://www.rootsweb.com/~vagenweb/illinois.htm Regards, Freddie S.
